working together
Welcome to Wild Path Therapy.
Thank you for considering counselling with me. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and my hope is to provide a space where you feel safe, respected and genuinely heard. The information below explains how we will work together.
Appointments
Sessions are by appointment only. Most appointments are 90 minutes, unless we agree otherwise. Please arrive on time so you receive the full benefit of your session.
Fees and Payment
Current fees are listed on the Wild Path Therapy website. Payment is due before or at the time of your appointment.
Cancelling or Rescheduling
Life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed appointments, may incur the full session fee unless exceptional circumstances apply.
Walk & Talk Therapy
Counselling is a supportive, collaborative process that aims to improve wellbeing, build insight and develop practical strategies. While many people find counselling helpful, no particular outcome can be guaranteed.
Many sessions take place outdoors while we walk together. By choosing Walk & Talk Therapy, you understand that:
-
Sessions take place in public outdoor spaces.
-
While I choose quieter routes where possible, complete privacy cannot be guaranteed.
-
Sessions may be moved online or rescheduled if weather or safety becomes a concern.
-
You are responsible for wearing suitable clothing and comfortable footwear.
-
Please let me know if you have an injury or health condition that may affect your walk.
There is never any pressure to keep walking. We can slow down, stop or sit whenever you need.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Everything you share in counselling is treated with care, respect and confidentiality.
I collect only the information needed to provide counselling and manage your appointments. This may include your contact details, emergency contact, GP details (if you choose to provide them), counselling notes, appointment records and payment information.
Your information is stored securely and kept confidential. Information will only be shared if:
-
you ask me to share it
-
there is an immediate risk of serious harm to you or another person
-
a child or vulnerable person may not be safe
-
a court or Australian law requires disclosure.
Whenever possible, I will discuss this with you first.
Your records are retained securely for the period required by Australian law and professional standards before being safely destroyed.
If you have any questions about how your information is handled, please ask.
Counselling is Not a Crisis Service
Wild Path Therapy is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or require urgent assistance, please call 000 or attend your nearest Emergency Department. If you require immediate mental health support outside your appointment, please contact an appropriate crisis support service.
Communication
Phone, email and text messages are used mainly for arranging appointments and sharing practical information. As messages are not monitored at all times, please do not rely on phone, email or SMS for urgent therapeutic support.
Our Work Together
Counselling is a collaborative process built on trust, honesty and respect. You are welcome to ask questions, provide feedback, or end counselling at any time. If I believe another practitioner or service would better meet your needs, I will discuss this with you and, where appropriate, refer you to more suitable support.
Changes
This information may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in my practice or legal requirements. The latest version will always be available on the Wild Path Therapy website.
Thank You
Thank you for choosing Wild Path Therapy. It is a privilege to walk alongside people as they navigate life's challenges. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.
